Today we thank after-school volunteer Dr. Sarbari Gupta from RESET for all the fun and engaging #STEM activities she organizes for our kids. This one is called “Walk the Line” to teach algorithm programming. In this activity, kids form teams to create algorithms to help a blindfolded teammate walk trails that consist of several right angles. The team that reaches the end of the trail first scores a point. Teams change trails and repeat the activity until every team member gets a chance to walk the line. The team that scores the most points wins—the game and a new life skill! Learn more about RESET at @RESETDC or https://resetonline.org.
Things got a little slithery at STEAM Club last week, when our kids learned about wonderful world of reptiles. Their popsicle stick snakes were too cute to be scary. What’s on tap for tomorrow’s STEAM Club? Come see for yourself! Email firstname.lastname@example.org to register. It’s FREE for kids age 5-14 from 10 am – noon at the Opportunity Center in Sterling.
