Volunteer and Internship Opportunities

Volunteers are the backbone of any community organization, and the Opportunity Center is no exception. We are always in search of volunteers willing to serve in any capacity. We currently need volunteers for the following areas:

1. Child Care – Friday nights and Saturday mornings

2. After School Programs  – Monday – Thursday from 3:00 – 6:00 pm

3.  Tutors – 1:1 every day between 4:00 – 5:00 pm

We often need help with the following:

  • After School Program/Tutoring
  • Mentoring
  • Summer camp aides
  • ESL teachers for beginner/intermediate classes
  • Spanish classes
  • Child care
  • Cooking/nutrition classes
  • Cake decorating classes
  • Special events
  • Leading one-time special projects/programs for after school and summer camp
  • Career exploration workshops
  • College preparation seminars
  • Computer classes
  • Financial literacy classes
  • Couple communication workshops
  • Chronic disease prevention workshops
  • Community safety workshops
  • Babysitting classes
  • First aid/CPR classes
  • Cross-cultural/diversity workshops
  • Citizenship classes
  • Legal aid/Immigration counseling
  • Domestic Violence Support Group (Spanish)
  • Ancillary services
