INMED celebrates 3 new graduates from our Family & Youth Opportunity Center’s after-school program

INMED celebrates 3 new graduates from our Family & Youth Opportunity Center’s after-school program. Second-grade Sophie, second-grade Marilyn and third-grade Maria have made such great progress in our program that they no longer need additional homework help or tutoring. Maria was referred to our after-school program last year because she was falling behind in reading and math. Tutors worked one-on-one with Maria and guided her on daily homework, building her proficiency and confidence throughout the year.

We are happy to report that she is reading above grade level and is on grade level with her math. “When I check her homework, it is always ready,” says her father. “I also noticed she is reading more on her own and has shown a greater interest in reading than before.”

Marilyn needed general homework assistance and has shown great improvement in completing her work independently. She also is reading far above grade level and has started to work on above-grade-level math without assistance. Likewise, Sophie has progressed well above grade level in her reading/math and has shown major improvement in performing her homework independently.

Congratulations to these intelligent young ladies. We know they have bright futures ahead of them! For more on INMED’s after-school and summer camp programs at the Family & Youth Opportunity Center, visit www.opportunitycenter.us/programs.
